What Is the Akytec IC4-M RS-485 USB Converter?

The Akytec IC4-M is a bidirectional USB-to-RS-485 converter that converts the USB connection on a computer or notebook into an RS-485 serial communication port. It enables PLCs, sensors, indicators, I/O modules, and other RS-485 devices to be easily connected to a computer.

Thanks to automatic data direction control, the IC4-M provides bidirectional data communication between USB and RS-485 interfaces without requiring additional flow control. Galvanic isolation between USB and RS-485 helps protect the computer and connected devices against electrical noise and potential differences.

Since the device is powered directly from the computer's USB port, no external power supply is required. Power and data transmission status can be easily monitored via the LED indicators on the device. It is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
