Pressure sensors and transmitters measure liquid or gas pressure and transmit the value to automation systems via 4-20 mA, voltage or digital communication. You can explore standard pressure and differential pressure products according to measurement range, process connection, media compatibility and output type.

How Do Pressure Sensors and Pressure Transmitters Work?

A pressure sensing element converts applied pressure into an electrical signal. In a transmitter, this signal is scaled and converted into a standard output that can be read by a PLC, SCADA, controller or data logger. Differential pressure transmitters measure the pressure difference between two points and can be used in filter, fan, duct and HVAC applications.

What Information Is Required to Select the Right Product?

The minimum and maximum pressure range, whether the measurement is gauge or differential, the type of process medium and the process temperature should first be determined. Wetted materials, process connection, sealing, IP protection rating, overpressure resistance and electrical connection all affect product lifetime. On the output side, 4-20 mA, 0-10 V or other signal options should be selected according to the requirements of the control system.

For pump, compressor, hydraulic, water, oil, tank and HVAC applications, the pressure measurement point and installation conditions should be evaluated together. At Tesla Kontrol, we support you in selecting the appropriate sensor or transmitter according to your pressure range and process requirements.
