What Outputs Are Available on the NP785 Differential Pressure Sensor for Automation Systems?

The NP785 differential pressure sensor features one analog output configurable as either 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC, RS-485 Modbus RTU communication, and a DO (Alarm) output. None of these are optional; all three outputs are included as standard.

The 4-20 mA analog output can be scaled to the desired measurement range.

Using RS-485 Modbus, the sensor can communicate directly with PLC or SCADA systems.

A setpoint can also be assigned to the alarm output. When the differential pressure reaches the configured value, the sensor can activate its alarm output to start or stop a system. This allows the NP785 differential pressure sensor to be used as an alarm or control device without requiring an additional controller. The control condition can be configured for below setpoint, above setpoint, or outside a defined range. A hysteresis value can also be entered.

The differential pressure transmitter also includes a digital filter setting, allowing the measurement response to be smoothed and slowed down when required.

All settings on the differential pressure transmitter can be easily configured from a computer through the USB port. The configuration software is provided free of charge.

Can Zeroing Be Performed on the Differential Pressure Sensor?

The NP785 differential pressure transmitter features a zeroing function. There are two available methods: it can be performed using the small button located on the sensor, or through the configuration software.

(Zeroing cannot be performed via RS-485 Modbus on the differential pressure transmitter.)

What Settings Can Be Configured on the Differential Pressure Sensor, and How Are They Configured?

The NP785 differential pressure sensor features a USB port, allowing you to easily configure the required settings from a computer using the free configuration software.

Available settings include:

- Measurement range adjustment

- Analog output configuration (selection of 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC)

- Analog output scaling (differential pressure scale adjustment)

- Unit selection (mBar, Pascal, mmH2O or psi)

- RS-485 Modbus settings

- Setpoint configuration for the relay (alarm) output

- Digital Filter (DF) setting for smoothing the measurement response

- Offset adjustment

- Zeroing (manual)
