What Is the Akytec SMI2-M Modbus Process Indicator?

The Akytec SMI2-M is a digital process indicator used to display a value from an RS-485 Modbus network on a compact panel-mounted display. Thanks to its Master, Slave and Spy operating modes, it can be integrated into existing Modbus systems for different application scenarios.

Communication Options	Master Mode The indicator operates as a Master, reads a channel from a Slave device, and displays the value. Slave Mode The indicator operates as a Slave, and the value to be displayed is written to it by a Master device. Spy Mode The indicator can be added to an existing Master-Slave connection by connecting it to the existing RS-485 line as if it were a second Master device, allowing it to read data without disrupting the existing Slave structure. (Note: Check whether Spy Mode is compatible with your existing Modbus structure and test it before purchasing.)
