What Outputs Are Available on the Process Indicators?

Our process indicators operate on 220 VAC, feature universal inputs, and support the connection of many different types of sensors. For sensors with 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC outputs, the indicator can provide the required power directly through its 24 VDC sensor supply output, eliminating the need for an additional power supply.

  • The N1540-AO process indicator features one 4-20 mA output. In addition to displaying the measurement value, it can transmit the measurement signal to PLC systems via the 4-20 mA output. It also includes 2 relay outputs.
  • The N1540-485 process indicator features an RS-485 Modbus output. It also includes 2 relay outputs as standard.
  • The N1500 process indicator features both 4-20 mA and RS-485 Modbus outputs. It also includes 4 relay outputs.

All of our process indicators feature a USB port. In addition to configuration using the buttons on the device, all settings can be configured more easily from a computer using the free software.

Can Volume Linearization Be Configured for Irregularly Shaped Tanks When Connecting a Level Sensor to the Process Indicator?

Yes. The N1540 series process indicators support up to 10-point curve linearization, while the N1500 series process indicator supports up to 30 points. This allows you to accurately define the corresponding volume in liters or kilograms at different level points of an irregularly shaped tank or silo.

This feature can also be used for sensor error correction.

Do the N1540 and N1500 Process Indicators Have a Sensor Power Supply Output?

Yes, all of our process indicators feature a 24 VDC sensor power supply output. As you know, Pt100 and thermocouple temperature sensors can be connected directly, while sensors such as pressure transmitters, level sensors and flow meters require an external power supply. Our process indicators operate on 220 VAC and provide a 24 VDC output for powering these sensors. Therefore, no additional power supply is required for the sensor.
